Korfball Instructions

We had our very first try of Korfball today.  It was such a fun game to play.  All the students had a good go at playing and really tried their best.

We were lucky and had two goes.  Our first part was learning the rules and how to play the game.  Our second part in the afternoon was putting what we have learnt together and playing the game.  Check out our photos and read our comments about what we thought of it.

Play Dough Making

Busy getting ready to knead our play dough.

We decided to make a pink lot of play dough.

We have been busy making play dough today for our fraction maths next week.  We enjoyed picking out the colours and kneading it.  Have you every made play dough? 

Athletics and Beach Clean Up

 Super proud of all of Ruma Tui and all the effort that they put into their athletics events.  Also a big walk down to the beach to pick up rubbish after they had finished.  Here is a short video of some of the photos that were taken.

Our Learning About Zones

 We have been learning about the Zones of Regulation and how our engines run.  We have been working really hard and are now able to start talking about the zones and can recognise the feelings that we have in the different zones.  We still have some more senses to work on so keep an eye out for our next video and learning.

Tuesday Maths

We have been using materials to solve problems when subtracting the tens and ones.  We have also been learning about what the minus symbol means.  We learnt that there are many different ways to talk about minus like subtraction and takeaway.

Camp 2020

 Was great to see so many smiling faces when I went back through the photos.  This is just a few of what has been taken so will put them up on the learning site tomorrow.  A big thank you to all the parents who baked, came and helped out over the two days and supported all the students.

Art Part Two

 Here was the next step in our art.  This time we had to dye the whole page with different dyes.  We really enjoyed watching the dye as we painted over the wax crayon.  The dye wouldn't cover the crayon and it looked like it was moving all around the page.We made a time lapse movie of the process.  We hope you enjoy.
